Lewisboro Real Estate | Supervisor Duffy Releases Statement Regarding DWI Arrest – Bedford-Katonah, NY Patch

Lewisboro Supervisor Charles Duffy released a statement to the press late Sunday afternoon regarding his arrest on Aug. 12 for driving while intoxicated.

Below is his statement in full:

I can certainly respect that people in our community have many questions and concerns regarding the events surrounding Friday night, and I will speak to this directly and openly as soon as my attorneys advise me that it is the appropriate time.

I am a public servant with obligations to the people of Lewisboro, and fully recognize that I am held to a higher level of accountability, both professionally and personally.  I have been discussing this event extensively with my wife and children, and I simply ask that you respect the privacy of my family while we deal with this very painful and personal matter.

Please know that this event will not in any way interfere with my ability to perform my duties as Town Supervisor, and I am returning to work Monday morning to continue to serve the people of Lewisboro.

Duffy has been supervisor of the town of Lewisboro since 2010 and is seeking re-election to the position this fall. He is running against Democrate Peter Parsons.

He is scheduled to appear in Lewisboro Town Court on Sept. 12.
