Three transportation items of note:
- Be alert the rest of this weekend: the New York State Police on Sunday and Monday will be working the final days of their Labor Day crack-down on drunk driving.
- Looking further ahead, remember to add some time to your commute Tuesday through Friday, as you adjust to school buses everywhere. Remember to stop for a stopped bus!
- The next Bike & Skate Sunday is coming up Sept. 11: the Bronx River Parkway will be closed to cars between the County Center and the Sprain Brook Parkway.
Here are some road projects that may affect your drive in the coming week:
Putnam County
I-684 at the I-84 interchange in Southeast: no lanes closed, but shoulders will be closed north and southbound. Dayside.
Rockland County
Work continues on Route 59 in Clarkstown with lane closures east- and westbound scheduled till November.
Westchester County
Route 9A in Greenburgh may still be problematic due to downed wires and utility work near Route 100B; it was closed Sept. 3 for the work.
Bronx River Parkway: the northbound lane will be closed Sept. 7 in White Plains near exit 19 for streetlight repairs. Dayside.
Route 9 in Cortlandt between Annsville Circle and Highland Avenue: one lane closed northbound.
North State Road in Briarcliff Manor at Route 9A: closed between 9A and Pleasantville Road due to sinkhole.
